Mary Marzinek, RN IBCLC
As a leading community expert in the field of lactation, Mary has worked at Oishei Children's Hospital as a pediatric registered nurse and international board certified lactation consultant. She has cared for more than 35,000 families in WNY specializing in lactation for over 17 years. Her experience caring for babies spans 30 years as both a pediatric and neonatal nurse.
Mary is also an educator, having taught breastfeeding classes at Oishei Hospital and in the community at Destination Maternity. As a collaborative team member of the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative at Oishei Hospital, she strived to enhance maternity care, promoting/supporting optimal breastfeeding practices. As one of the core facilitators of the Baby Café at Oishei Hospital, she offered support for breastfeeding families in the community.
As a life-long learner, Mary recently became a birth and postpartum doula in an effort to assist families in the local community as she transitions her care from hospital to home.
Mary is a mother of five grown children and two grandchildren. She can empathize with her clients, as she too has been through the parenting journey.
